3 arrested for gangrape of woman, daughter in Jalandhar

The four accused, identified as Sajan and Rocky, both residents of Guru Nanak Colony, Lohian, Arshpreet Singh, alias Arsh, resident of village Punia and Rajan, alias Rohit, also from village Punia and residing in Guru Nanak Colony, Lohian, carried out the crime. Rajan is still at large. SP Investigation Sarabjit Rai said Sajan, Rocky, and Arshpreet Singh were apprehended by Lohian police. Two motorbikes along with sharp weapons used in the attack were recovered.
Harvinder Singh Virk, SSP Rural Jalandhar, said the incident took place on the night of November 23-24. The victims, field labourers, told police that four unidentified men forcibly entered the motor room where they were working, assaulted them, and locked up the son-in-law and children separately. The 35-year-old widow and her 19-year-old daughter were then taken to another room and gangraped in turn. After the assault, the men consumed the field owner’s liquor, stole wires, scrap, and agricultural implements and left, he added.
A case was registered under Sections 64, 70(1), and 351(2) of the BNS at Lohian police station on November 24.
