3 arrested with heroin, tramadol tablets in separate operations

In three separate operations carried out by the police under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, three persons were arrested for possession of heroin and psychotropic tablets.

In the first case, police party during patrolling and checking duty in the Balachaur area, apprehended Parvesh Bains alias Pappi, a resident of Balachaur. He was allegedly found carrying 10 grams of heroin, following which a case was registered under Section 21 of the NDPS Act and the accused was taken into custody.

In another incident, police team nabbed Himanshu, from the same region during routine checking when he reportedly attempted to dispose of a suspicious packet upon seeing the police vehicle. Upon checking the packet, the police recovered 34 Tramadol Hydrochloride SR Tablets (Covitadol 100 SR), which are categorised as psychotropic substances. A case was registered under Section 22 of the NDPS Act and the accused was arrested at the spot.

Similarly, in a third action, the police arrested Karanpreet alias Billa, a resident of Rahon, after he was allegedly found in possession of 3 grams of heroin near Rajnsi Park area during police patrolling. The contraband was seized, and legal proceedings under Section 21 of the NDPS Act were initiated.
