The princely city is again going to witness mega event as the Punjab Government will organise a Heritage Festival here from March 1-3.

Deputy Commissioner Amit Kumar Panchal said the district administration had geared up to organise the festival to be held on the premises of Sainik School. The three-day festival would include art, music, cultural, social and folk activities, besides holding a couple of sports competition among students.

After holding discussions with all stakeholders, the DC said various committees headed by senior officials had been constituted to ensure smooth conduct of the event. He said renowned artists from across the country would take part in this event to be held at Maharaja Jagatjit Palace, from where Sainik School, Kapurthala, is being run.

Panchal said adequate security, logistic, boarding/lodging, parking arrangements were been made. The DC has sought requisitions from the participants for installing exhibitions and stalls by February 27. Interested aspirants could submit their requests in the office of Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development). The administration has designated the Secretary Red Cross as the nodal officer for any further information in this regard.

Meanwhile, ADC (General) Shikha Bhagat took stock of the ongoing arrangements and preparations for the event by holding a meeting with officials concerned. She also directed them to ensure timely accomplishment of requisite arrangements so as to facilitate people.
