3 injured as car turns turtle after hitting divider near LPU

Huge traffic jam on Jalandhar-Delhi National Highway after a car accident in front of LPU campus near Jalandhar on Thursday.

Jalandhar, June 23

Three persons were injured when their car toppled near the Chaheru bridge here on Thursday. While the car was severely damaged, no loss of life has been reported. A huge traffic jam was also witnessed on the road while the victims were being rescued by do-gooders, who took out the trio stuck in the severely damaged car.

ASI Satnam Singh said: “Three youths were coming from Jalandhar side in an Audi car. Their car climbed over a divider on the bridge near Lovely Professional University. The car toppled, falling sideways. The accident happened due to the youths’ error and there was no other vehicle involved in the accident. The youths were taken out of the car by passersby by breaking open the glass, as they were stuck inside. The three men had already been rescued by the time a police team reached. No loss of life has been reported.”
