3 women among four held with heroin, poppy husk

JALANDHAR: The Nawanshahr police arrested four accused, including three women, today and recovered 120 g of heroin and 60 kg of poppy husk from their possession in two incidents.

The Nawanshahr police arrested four accused, including three women, today and recovered 120 g of heroin and 60 kg of poppy husk from their possession in two incidents.

The women have been identified as Harjinder Kaur of Rahon, Nirmal Kaur of Banga and Inderjit Kaur of Aur who were arrested with 120 g of heroin along with Rs 16,500 drug money by the police team during a checking at Azad Chowk in Banga.

A case has been registered under Section 21 of the NDPS Act at the Banga City police station.

In another case, Baljinder Singh, a resident of Rurka Khurd village, here, was arrested by the Sadar police. The police recovered 60 kg of poppy husk from his possession. He was driving a Skoda car when he was caught with the drugs.

A case has been registered under Section 15 of the NDPS Act in this regard.
