During its drive against the vector-borne diseases under Tandrust Punjab mission, the Anti-larva Cell of the Health Department detected 33 dengue larvae at various places of the city on Saturday.
Separate teams of the Anti-larva Cell, carried out the checking at Surajganj, Barring, Maqsudan, New Jawala Nagar, Doaba Chowk to the Railway Station, Katehra Mohalla, Rattan Nagar, Babu Labh Singh Nagar and Leather Complex.
The teams visited 521 houses covering the population of 2,202, checked 200 desert coolers and 487 waste containers.
Members of teams told residents that the desert coolers and waste containers could act as a breeding ground for the mosquitoes and spread diseases like dengue, malaria, and others.
