50 women awarded vocational training certificates in Phagwara

The Sarab Nojawan Welfare Society (regd) Phagwara, in collaboration with Sosva Punjab, organised a certificate distribution ceremony for 50 young women who successfully completed vocational training at the society’s centre located at Scheme No 3 on Hoshiarpur Road. The event was held under the leadership of Society President Sukhwinder Singh.

AAP Punjab spokesperson and Phagwara constituency in-charge Harnoor Singh (Harji) Maan attended the programme as the chief guest, while Mayor Rampal Uppal, AAP district secretary Santosh Kumar Gogi, Deputy Mayor Vicky Sood and several other dignitaries were present as special guests.

Addressing the gathering, chief guest Harji Maan lauded the initiative of the society and encouraged the trainees who completed cutting, tailoring and beautician courses. He said that learning hands-on skills empowers young women and helps strengthen the economic foundation of their families. “Girls today have ample opportunities across all fields and are performing exceptionally well. They should move forward without hesitation and aim to become self-reliant,” he added.

Mayor Rampal Uppal, in his remarks, said that vocational skills form the backbone of an individual’s livelihood. He urged young women to acquire expertise in their chosen trades to support themselves and their families. District secretary Santosh Kumar Gogi appreciated the growing interest of girls in self-employment and encouraged them to set clear goals for their future.

Society President Sukhwinder Singh congratulated all the trainees, stating that the centre provides free training to girls from underprivileged families with the support of Sosva Punjab.

At the conclusion of the event, the guests and contributors were honoured with mementoes. Former accountant of the centre, Sapna Sharda, was also specially felicitated. A large number of social workers, community members and students were present on the occasion.
