Aaghaz-e-Dosti, an organisation promoting peace and friendship between India and Pakistan, has released its 14th India-Pakistan Peace Calendar for 2026–2027. The calendar features paintings by students from both countries expressing their vision of peace, friendship and mutual respect.
Organisation representatives said that six paintings each from India and Pakistan were selected through competitions held in both countries, with the final 12 artworks compiled into the calendar. The initiative received an enthusiastic response from schools across both nations. From the Indian side, four winning paintings were selected from Punjab, including works by Gursahij Singh (Police DAV Public School, Ludhiana), Navya Mehra (DAV Public School, Amritsar) and Svinay Kumar (Swami Sant Dass Public School, Phagwara). A runner-up painting by Ishita of Swami Sant Dass Public School was also included.
The calendar was released in Phagwara, Sri Anandpur Sahib, Ludhiana, and Amritsar. Addressing the gathering, Professor Jagmohan, nephew of Shaheed Bhagat Singh, said that despite war-like situations between the two countries in recent times, children from both sides have conveyed a powerful message of peace and harmony, reflecting the true aspirations of ordinary citizens.
Coordinator Nitin Mittu stated that participating students and schools continue to inspire the organisation to conduct more such initiatives, expressing hope that increasing youth participation will contribute to lasting peace between the two nations.
