Aatmsukh Aashram secures 2nd position at State Special Olympics

Aatmsukh Aashram, Hoshiarpur, has brought laurels to the district and the state by securing second position in the Top–3 (Big School) category at the 26th Punjab State Special Olympics–2025. The prestigious state-level event was recently held at Lovely Professional University (LPU), Jalandhar.

The Punjab State Special Olympics–2025 witnessed the enthusiastic participation of nearly 700 athletes from 23 districts of Punjab and 30 special schools. Competing on such a large platform, the athletes of Aatmsukh Aashram delivered an inspiring performance, proving that determination and confidence can overcome every challenge.

A team of 12 special children from Aatmsukh Aashram took part in various sports events and performed exceptionally well. Their collective efforts resulted in the Ashram winning the second trophy in the Top–3 (Big School) category. Overall, the players secured an impressive total of 22 medals, including nine gold, eight silver and five bronze medals, reflecting their hard work and sporting excellence.

The achievement is the result of the children’s discipline, dedication and continuous practice, along with the tireless guidance of their coaches and teachers. The Ashram management stated that the success highlights the hidden potential, abilities and growing self-confidence of children with special needs.

Expressing his happiness, Navdeep Sud, President of Tek Chand Sud Charitable Trust, congratulated the special children and the entire Ashram team. “This achievement has made us all proud. Our special children have shown that with love, guidance and opportunity, they can achieve anything,” he said. He also appreciated the efforts of the teaching staff, especially Principal Pawan Singh, Sapna and Manisha, along with all staff members and volunteers. “The dedication of the teachers and staff has played a key role in shaping the confidence and skills of these children,” he added.

On the occasion, Navdeep Sud also announced special rewards for the children to further encourage them. “These rewards are a small recognition of their big achievement and will motivate them to aim even higher in the future,” he said.

The success of Aatmsukh Aashram at the Punjab State Special Olympics–2025 stands as a strong message of inclusion, hope and belief in the abilities of children with special needs, inspiring society to support and celebrate their talents.
