Apeejay College bags Inter-Zonal Youth Fest title for 25th time

Apeejay College of Fine Arts has made history by winning the Inter-Zonal Youth Festival Championship for the 25th consecutive year. The festival, organised by Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar, saw Apeejay clinch the top position with an impressive 146 points.

After securing the Zonal Youth Festival title last month, the college teams dominated multiple events, including music, literature, fine arts, folk and theatre. Apeejay bagged first place in 20 events, including folk orchestra, classical instrumental (percussion), group bhajan, group song, clay modelling, collage making, elocution (Punjabi), debate (English), classical dance, choreography, folk song, skit, rangoli, general dance, geet/ghazal, vaar singing, classical vocal, Western vocal (solo and group), and Western instrumental (solo). The teams also secured second place in six events: gidha, kawishri, on-the-spot painting, one-act play, phulkari and poster making. Additionally, they earned third prizes in elocution (English).

Dr Neerja Dhingra, Principal of Apeejay College, expressed her pride in the college’s consistent performance over the past two decades. She congratulated the students for their hard work and dedication, which led to this remarkable achievement. Dr Dhingra also credited Dr Arun Mishra, Cultural Advisor and Dr Amita Mishra, Dean of Youth Festival, along with their mentors, for guiding the students to success in this historic moment.
