The police on Saturday booked six persons for attacking a man near Bone Mills, Chiherru, on the Phagwara-Jalandhar highway. The incident took place on July 19.
On a complaint of Karan Luthra, a resident of Jawahar Nagar in Jalandhar, a case under Sections 307,341,506,148 and 149 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Arms Act was registered. The case was registered today after four months of the incident.
In his complaint to the police, the victim said he was returning to Jalandhar in his car from Phagwara when the culprits had stopped his car near the Chiherru bridge.
He said the culprits had assaulted him and asked him to hand over his belongings. They also fired at him when he resisted. The victim had also sustained bullet injuries.
