BJP's Manoranjan Kalia faces farmers' wrath during campaign

Jalandhar, February 18

BJP leader and Jalandhar Central candidate of the party Manoranjan Kalia faced protests from farmers at Dhannowali village in Jalandhar during his campaign on Friday. A small group of farmers bearing black flags raised slogans against the party at the village while BJP workers canvassed at the village. Protesting farmers and BJP workers also came face to face when the farmers raised slogans as a BJP cavalcade was passing through the village streets.

As per video grabs of the incident released on social media a BJP cavalcade and group of workers with BJP flags, can be seen passing by as farmers raise slogans while standing on the side. The police also prevented farmer leaders to prevent an untoward situation.

The farmers kept raising slogans until after the BJP group of workers and leaders passed by. Notably, while Manoranjan Kalia had been at the receiving end of protests at the height of the farmers protests against farm laws, after the repeal of the laws no significant protest was witnessed against the party for a long time.
