Campus notes: Annual function
Mayor Galaxy, pre- primary wing of Mayor World School, organised its annual function ‘AURA-where light meets life’, with great splendour. The programme commenced with the traditional lamp lighting ceremony by Vice Chairperson Neerza Mayor, Principal Diya Keni, Vice Principal Charu Treha and Headmistress Preena Sablok. The event featured a captivating prayer dance that paid tribute to nature’s beauty, setting the tone for the enchanting performances that followed.The students of KG II were honoured for their achievements during the academic year 2024-25. The highlight of the celebration was a magical tale titled ‘The rainbow journey’, where a little explorer named Aurora discovered the unique stories of the seven colours of the rainbow. Each colour was represented through an enchanting dance performance by the young Mayorites.
Graduation ceremony
The graduation ceremony for Grade KG II students of Innocent Hearts School , Cantt- Jandiala Road branch, was organised. The chief guest for the event was Rajwinder Kaur Thiara, Chairperson, Jalandhar Improvement Trust, and AAP Secretary Punjab. On this occasion, Chairman of Innocent Hearts Dr Anup Bowry and Executive Director Colleges Aradhana Bowry were also present. The event featured a variety of performances including a welcome song, motivational songs, and energetic dances like ‘Dynamite and dreamers’. The chief guest honoured the young graduates with degrees. The little graduates transitioning from the pre-wing to the primary wing looked cute in convocation attire. Principal Sonali Manocha delivered a vote of thanks.
Orientation Drive
Kanya Maha Vidyalaya held a placement-cum-orientation drive for the final year students of commerce, sciences and humanities. Himanshu, Lovepreet and Diksha Kundra from NIIT IFBI were the resource persons for this placement drive. Principal Prof. Dr. Atima Sharma Dwivedi inspired the students to actively participate and avail all the opportunities provided to them on the college campus. She averred that these drives enrich the resume of students and open their doors to competitive job markets. Himanshu, Assistant Manager, NIIT IFBI, initiated the placement-cum-orientation drive by briefing the students on various career opportunities in the banking sector. He then elaborated on the screening process for the selection of the candidates, which comprised four rounds. The first round was an English essay writing test. The second round was an online psychometric test consisting of multiple-choice questions designed to assess behavioural traits and decision-making skills. The third round included an aptitude test evaluating reasoning abilities, quantitative aptitude and English proficiency of the candidates and the final round assessed candidates’ interview skills. Lovepreet also explained key aspects of banking and various products offered by banks.
