Campus notes: Students organise fashion show
Jalandhar: Apeejay School, Mahavir Marg, witnessed a spectacular fashion show ‘Global threads-A journey through ethnic elegance’ by the students of fashion studies. The students showcased the vibrant and diverse ethnic wear of India, Belgium, Poland, and Sri Lanka. The students from different grades participated enthusiastically, displaying the rich cultural heritage and traditional attire of these four countries. Girls wore sarees and lehngas in vibrant colours, adorned with detailed embroidery and mirror work. Aubrien and Ahira were adjudged the Best Model (child) title. Shubhkeerat bagged the Best Model (male) title. Best Model (female) title was bagged by Shranya, Mouli and Archita. Best Walk award was bagged by Aryan and Akshita. Best costume title went to Ishita for her Belgian attire and Jayantika for her traditional Indian wear. Principal Sangeeta Nistandra appreciated the budding fashion enthusiasts for their creative and innovative ideas.
Wrestling tournament winners
Jalandhar: Students of Seth Hukam Chand SD Public Senior Secondary School excelled in the 68th School District Wrestling Tournament. In girls’ category, Gursheen Kaur of Class XI and in boys’ category, Jailpreet Singh of Class IX bagged gold medals. They also qualified for state-level wrestling tournament. President of the school Naresh Budhia, Manager Parveen Dada and Principal Priyanka Sharma congratulated the students and parents for their success.
Zonal cricket tournament held
Jalandhar: PSEB’s 68th Punjab Region Zonal School Games were held at MGN Public School. In category under-14 (boys), CJS Public School got the first position in the cricket tournament. Secretary Lalit Mittal, Chairperson Neena Mittal and Principal Dr Ravi Suta congratulated the students on their achievement. They inspired the students to move ahead in the future with dedication and confidence.
Eco-club coordinators’ workshop
Jalandhar: CT Group of Institutions, Shahpur Campus, hosted the cluster-level orientation workshop for eco-club coordinators. This event, conducted under the Environment Education Programme-2024, brought together coordinators from districts including Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Nawanshahr, Ropar and Kapurthala. The workshop was facilitated by the Punjab State Council for Science and Technology (PSCST), in collaboration with the Union Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, and organised by the District Education Office, Jalandhar. Resource persons Dr Anjana Bhatia and Jagjit Singh led engaging sessions. The workshop helped in promoting the agenda of environmental education in schools and aligning with national objectives for ecological sustainability.
