Alpine Public High School recently hosted its vibrant three-day Annual Sports Meet. Students from all grades participated. Day 1 featured thrilling track events, including the 100m, 200m, relay races, and the three-legged race for students from Classes 3 to 7. The air was filled with excitement as participants raced to the finish line, cheered on by their peers. On day 2, students from Classes 8 to 12 took center stage, competing in a mix of field events such as the long jump, high jump, and track races including the 300m, 200m, and relay events. The three-legged race added a fun twist. The final day was all about the younger students, from Nursery to Class 2, who participated in delightful activities such as track races, banana races, hurdle races, frog races, and spoon races. In closing remarks, President Kulwant Singh Kohar commended the students for their dedication and emphasized the vital role of sports in character-building and discipline. Principal Dr. Sangeet Kumar encouraged students to adopt a healthy lifestyle.

Annual award ceremony

An annual award ceremony with the cultural programme themed Dharohar was held at Innocent Hearts School, Green Model Town. Sunil Kumar Yadav (Deputy Director In-charge, Sub-Regional Office, Employees’ State Insurance Corporation, Jalandhar) inaugurated the ceremony. Dr. Palak Gupta Bowry (Director CSR) talked on efforts being made for youth development, integrating technology into teaching methods, and bringing innovation to the education sector. Students who had achieved over 90 per cent marks in the CBSE Class 10th and 12th examinations were felicitated. Dinesh Aggarwal and Dr. Palak awarded the Student of the Year titles to Gurmannat Kaur (Green Model Town), Bhavesh Rehan (Loharan), and Navleen Kaur (Nurpur), in the memory of Kamlesh Bowry, the founder director of Innocent Hearts. These students received trophies along with a cash prize of ?5100. The best performers in dance, music, acting, and science and technology from all five schools were also recognized and awarded. Scholarships were distributed to deserving students, further encouraging academic excellence. Shally Bowry (Executive Director, Schools & HR), Aradhana Bowry (Executive Director, Colleges), Dr. Rohan Bowry (Deputy Director, Medical Science), and other members of the Bowry Memorial Trust were present.

CYCLOTRACK held

Mayor World School hosted its cycling event, Cyclotrack-4, themed “Hope, Health, and Happiness”. The event saw an overwhelming participation of 350 enthusiastic riders, representing all ages and backgrounds, united by their passion for cycling and promoting a healthy lifestyle. The six-kilometre cycling route, which traversed the heart of the city, was a spectacle of energy and spirit. Cyclists, including grandparents, parents, students, and staff, set off from the School at 7:00 am, led by the Vice Chairperson Neerza Mayor, Principal Divya Keni, and the Vice Principal Charu Trehan. Vani Vij, a philanthropist and renowned social worker, officially inaugurated the event with a ceremonial flag-off. The route passed through Model Town. The parents also joined in, demonstrating their zest for an active lifestyle. Special awards were given to acknowledge exceptional participants. Amarjeet Singh Karwal, aged 80 , received the Senior Most Cyclist award. Viren Mankotia, just 4 years old, was celebrated as the Junior Most Cyclist.

Annual Sports Meet for Classes III to V

An annual sports meet was organised for the Classes lll - V in CJS Public School. The students enthusiastically participated in the Sports Meet events including 50 m race, frog race, one-legged race, relay race and 3-legged race were organised for the students. Principal Rajni Sharma told the students, “Sports can help you to develop skills like teamwork, sportsmanship, and stress management. Sports also help you to grow socially , mentally and emotionally.” She congratulated the winners by giving them medals and certificates and also motivated the students that sports are important for overall development.
