CI staff get promotions, commendation discs

AIG, Counter Intelligence (CI), HPS Khakh, in a function today awarded promotions and conferred DGP Commendation Discs on officials who were instrumental in busting terrorist modules, inter-state drug smugglers and arresting dreaded gangsters during the past year on the behalf of the DGP, Punjab.

The AIG said during the past one year, Counter Intelligence, Jalandhar, has cracked many cases, including Maqsudan grenade blast, international and inter-state drug smuggling and arrest of infamous gangsters involved in criminal activities, in the region.

He said during a crackdown on criminals, the wing has arrested two Kashmiri terrorists, big fishes of drug trade, including three foreigners and gangsters comprising some A category members.

Khakh said the wing had also seized deadly weapons, huge quantity of drugs (ketamine, heroin, opium and poppy husk) from the arrested criminals during the campaigns.

Those who have given promotions include HC Gurpreet Singh as ASI, HC Vikas Sharma as ASI, HC Rajesh Kumar as ASI, HC Ajmer Singh as ASI, constable Dikshit Banger as head constable and constable Avtar Singh as head constable. Besides, 25 officials were awarded with DGP commendation discs.
