Construction work hits rail traffic

JALANDHAR: Passengers faced a difficult time today at the city railway station when around 12 trains running on the Ambala-Saharanpur route were cancelled.

Passengers faced a difficult time today at the city railway station when around 12 trains running on the Ambala-Saharanpur route were cancelled.

The rail traffic remain halted from around 8 am to midnight. Officials said the trains were cancelled due to a construction work on the Saharanpur-Ambala rail section and a few trains would remain cancelled on May 27 as well.

Long and short route express and mail trains passing through Jalandhar which remain halted today include Rishikesh Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra Express (14609), Amritsar Howrah Mail (13006), Amritsar New Delhi (12460), New Delhi Jalandhar City Express (14681), Haridwar Una Himachal (12063) Ambala Cantt Saharanpur Express (64502), Chandigarh Diwdurgarh Express (15904), Ambala Cantt Delhi Express (14522) and Delhi Ambala Cantt Express (14521).

Saharsa Amritsar Express (14617), Kolkata Amritsar Express (12357) and Amritsar Darbhanga Express (15212) will be cancelled on May 27.
