Kickstarting the New Year with a bang, the Punjab Armed Police (PAP) yesterday organised a laughter therapy workshop for its constables at its training centre to make them stress-free.

Apart from laughing their heart out, the cops also attended yoga sessions and learned ways of meditation and to keep themselves calm.

Organised in the serene atmosphere of the PAP campus, the laughter session evoked a new sense of hope among those who attended it.

The cops gathered at the PAP grounds at around 10:30 am and began the day with a yoga session.

Later, Commandant Pawan Kumar Uppal, PAP Training Centre, took over the dais and introduced the laughter session to them.

The cops were told about the benefits of laughter and its effect on the nervous system of humans.

They were also asked to begin their day by looking into the mirror and laughing at themselves to begin the day in good humour.

The PAP has introduced a full-fledged women’s batch from this year onwards. They, too, became part of it.

This time, as many as 396 women and 691 men attended the session. After attending the yoga session, the cops even shook a leg with the senior officers and also sang songs.

Cops were seen taking selfies among themselves and with their seniors.

In the end, Uppal congratulated them and wished them a happy New Year.
