The Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) New Democracy staged a protest in Nawanshahr against the joint attack on Iran by the United States and Israel. Demonstrators gathered at Baradari Bagh before marching to Chandigarh Chowk, where they burned effigies of Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Addressing the gathering, party leaders Kulwinder Singh Waraich and Daljit Singh Advocate condemned the attack. "The strike resulted in the deaths of several senior Iranian figures, along with military officials and civilians.
The speakers accused the United States of pursuing control over Iran's oil reserves and strategic routes, alleging a broader pattern of interventionist policies aimed at reasserting global dominance. They referred to past US actions in countries such as Iraq and Libya, claiming these interventions destabilised regions and undermined elected governments.
