Deputy Commissioner Ghanshyam Thori felicitated Rohit Kumar, a student of Senior Secondary School in Kamahi Devi in Talwara, Hoshiarpur, who had topped PSEB’s Class XII exams by scoring 496/500 marks. Handing over a cheque for Rs 50,000 to Kumar, the DC lauded Rohit’s commitment and hard work despite financial hardships faced by the family.

“Rohit has become a source of inspiration for other students that how he has overcome several obstacles to become the board exam topper,” Thori said, adding Kumar would be provided full support in his future endeavours. Rohit’s father Sham Lal passed away few years ago. His mother Rekha Devi works as a domestic help.
