DC felicitates student for excelling in Class XII exams

JALANDHAR: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Jalandhar Varinder Kumar Sharma on Thursday handed over a demand draft for Rs 60,000 and a citation certificate to Anju Kumari, under the ‘Dr Ambedkar National Merit Award Scheme’ for meritorious students of senior secondary schools belonging to the Schedule Caste (SC).

The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Jalandhar Varinder Kumar Sharma on Thursday handed over a demand draft for Rs 60,000 and a citation certificate to Anju Kumari, under the ‘Dr Ambedkar National Merit Award Scheme’ for meritorious students of senior secondary schools belonging to the Schedule Caste (SC).

Anju Kumari has bagged the award for her performance in Class XII exams conducted by state/ Central Boards/ Councils. On the basis of her marks she was selected by ‘Dr Ambedkar Foundation’, an autonomous organisation, under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment that implements several welfare schemes and programmes relating to the welfare of SCs and STs.

The award has been given in recognition of the academic excellence and meritorious performance of Anju Kumari in Class XII examination held in 2017.

The DC complemented her for achieving the distinction. He asked Anju Kumari to continue with hard work and strive hard for excellence in future.

Complementing Anju and her parents for dreaming big, the DC said the district administration was ever-ready to help meritorious and needy students. Wishing the student a successful career ahead, Sharma expressed hope that every dream of the young girl would become a reality soon.

Anju Kumari, was the student of Meritorious School, Jalandhar and now pursuing BSc.

Natonal merit award for SC student

The DC on Thursday handed over a demand draft for Rs 60,000 and a citation certificate to Anju Kumari, under the 'Dr Ambedkar National Merit Award Scheme' for meritorious students of senior secondary schools belonging to the SC category. The award has been given in recognition of the academic excellence and meritorious performance of  Anju Kumari in Class XII examinations held in 2017.
