DC launches ‘Paani Bachao, Paise Kamao’ scheme for farmers

Hoshiarpur: Deputy Commissioner Hoshiarpur Isha Kalia announced to launch a special campaign to motivate farmers to voluntarily adopt pro-farmer ‘Paani Bachao, Paise kamao’ scheme. Camp was organised at feeder dhanoya today. The initiative was taken by the club Mukerian.

The DC interacted with the people who opted for the scheme. She urged everyone to enroll in the scheme to get benefit and conserve water. She said the Punjab government had introduced this scheme in Dhanoa as a Pilot project in the state.

She also said 158 farmers from Dhanoa village would be motivated to adopt the scheme from surrounding villages. She also mentioned that under the scheme, the limit of free power subsidy to the farmers would be fixed as per the capacity of their motor. —OC
