Deputy Commissioner Aashika Jain on Wednesday reviewed the proposed construction of a railway overbridge (ROB) on the Hoshiarpur–Jalandhar rail track near the local railway station and directed officials to prioritise public convenience at every stage of the project.
Chairing a meeting at the District Administrative Complex with officials of the Public Works Department and Northern Railways, the DC discussed various aspects of the project in detail. She emphasised that once the project is finalised and execution begins, ensuring smooth traffic flow and hassle-free movement for commuters must be the top priority.
Officials informed that objections had been raised in the past regarding the proposed length of the bridge. Taking note of the issue, Aashika Jain directed that the length of the ROB be finalised strictly as per actual requirements to avoid inconvenience to the public.
She also instructed the concerned departments to expedite all procedural formalities within a minimal timeframe so that the project can be initiated promptly and completed within the stipulated deadline.
