Jalandhar, August 2
Anti-larvae teams of the Health Department and the Jalandhar Municipal Corporation detected 15 dengue larvae cases on Thursday during its ongoing drive against vector-borne diseases.
Out of 15 cases, 11 were found in desert coolers.
Four teams, led by Raj Kumar, Gurwinder Singh, Harjit Kumar and Gurpal Singh carried out the drive in Basti Danishmandan, Chugitti, Babu Labh Singh Nagar, and Labana Colony.
During the checking, team members checked 315 houses, 136 waste containers, and 89 air coolers. The members of the teams distributed 7,000 chlorine tablets among people.
They also carried out spray in 30 rooms of these localities.
Team members apprised people of that these places could act as breeding grounds for mosquitoes to spread diseases like dengue, malaria and other diseases.
