Under its ongoing drive, Tandarust Punjab Mission, against vector-borne diseases, joint teams of the Health Department and the Municipal Corporation detected 24 cases of dengue larvae here on Friday.
A total of four teams of the anti-larvae wing led by Gurwinder Singh Bajwa, Naresh Kumar, Manjeet Singh and Sarbjeet carried out inspections in Aman Nagar, Sodal Nagar, Adarsh Nagar and Kabir Nagar.
During the checking at 173 houses, the teams checked 78 coolers, 72 waste containers and six tyres lying abundant.
The teams also sprayed medicines in 216 rooms.
Officials urged residents to refrain from storing water in containers and coolers as it could act as a breeding ground for mosquitoes.
