Dhamai village lifts football trophy

HARIANA (HOSHIARPUR): The team of Dhamai village won the 10th Shaheed Bhagat Singh Memorial Football Tournament, organised by Shaheed Bhagat Singh Football Club, Garhshankar.

The team of Dhamai village won the 10th Shaheed Bhagat Singh Memorial Football Tournament, organised by Shaheed Bhagat Singh Football Club, Garhshankar. 

Dhamai village get the best of Jindoval village 4-0. Bhagat Singh Football Club, Garhshankar, and Chak Fullu village remained the joint winners in the U-17 category.

In the Inter State Athletics Competition, Sahilpreet Singh of Doaba School, Mahilpur and Jasdeep Kaur of Doaba School, Parowal, were adjudged the best athletes. 

Former minister Sohan Singh Thandal and Akali Dal’s District president and former MLA Surinder Singh Bhullewal Ratha inaugurated the event jointly.  They encouraged the players to play with the spirit of sportsmanship and praised the efforts of the club. SGPC member Dr Jang Bahadur Singh Rai and Nagar Council president, Rajinder Singh Shooka  distributed the prizes among the players.
