DTF wants grievances related to appointment, transfer of teachers resolved
The Democratic Teachers’ Front (DTF), Jalandhar, 6635 ETT Union and 4161 Master Cadre Union submitted a memorandum on Friday to the Deputy District Education Officer (Secondary), Jalandhar, to resolve the grievances of teachers. The memorandum was addressed to the Education Minister of Punjab.
In a statement released to the press, Kulwinder Singh Josan, district president of DTF, said the Education Minister must ensure that the jobs of 3,704 master cadre, 6,635 ETT and hundreds of other teachers of various cadre who were excluded from the list due to recasting of the appointment lists should be protected in future.
“Also, we want that the notices issued to 3,704 cadre in this matter should be cancelled immediately,” he said.
He said 6,635 ETTs, 4,161 and 2,392 masters, serving hundreds of kilometers away from their homes, should be given a special opportunity for transfer without any condition, and male teachers should be given 20 holidays.. Among the members present on the occasion were Ram Lal Boparai, Amarjit Singh, Rajesh Kumar and others.
