To ensure that vocational education scheme is implemented in right earnest at government schools, the Education Department has started the process of inspecting the infrastructural set up at 43 government schools of the district to benefit students.
Kicking off the campaign to inspect schools, a team led by the district guidance counsellor and district coordinator Surjit Lal, inspected boys and girls school at local Bhargo Camp. During the inspection, the team checked the availability of books, percentage of syllabus covered, maintenance of class test record, number of students passed, their placement record and others. The team also checked the infrastructure in laboratory, stock registers, besides having a detailed interaction with students about courses being taught to them.
District Guidance Counsellor said the main aim of the inspection was to ensure that the vocational training programme being run by the Education Department was made more result oriented. He said the vocational education was currently being provided to students under all qualifications according to a series of levels of knowledge, skills and aptitude.
