Jalandhar, November 14
Animal Husbandry, Fisheries and Dairy Development and Higher Education Minister Tript Rajinder Singh Bajwa said today that the state government was committed to restore pristine glory of the education sector in the state.
Presiding over the annual function of Cambridge International School, the Minister said the state government was laying special thrust on two core sectors of health and education, adding that strenuous efforts were being made to ensure that Punjab emerges as a leading state in the country in these two sectors.
He called upon students to work hard to achieve their goals and contribute to development of the countryand asked them to follow the footsteps of freedom fighters and martyrs who laid their lives for the country. He also announced to give Rs 5 lakh from his discretionary funds for the school.
MLAs Pargat Singh and Rajinder Beri, Mayor Jagdish Raj Raja, SSP Navjot Singh Mahal and school principal Ravinder Mahal were among those others present. — TNS
