The “Old Pay Scale, Old Pension and Allowances Restoration Front” organised a large mobilisation convention followed by a protest march in Hoshiarpur, highlighting the long-pending financial demands of government employees.

The event saw participation from multiple employee unions led by district-level leaders. Addressing the gathering, union leaders criticised the government for its continued delay in resolving key issues affecting employees. They demanded the immediate restoration of the Old Pension Scheme (OPS) by scrapping the New Pension Scheme (NPS) for those recruited after January 1, 2004. The speakers also called for salary fixation as per the Sixth Punjab Pay Commission with a 15 per cent hike, along with the reinstatement of 37 withdrawn allowances, including rural and border area benefits and clearance of pending dearness allowance.

Following the convention, employees marched through the city raising slogans against the government. The protest concluded with the submission of a warning memorandum to the Punjab government through district authorities.
