Expert apprises faculty of research publications

JALANDHAR: Research and Entrepreneurship committee of KCL Institute of Management and Technology (KCLIMT), organised a ‘Faculty Development Programme (FDP)’ on research, writing and publication, to acquaint its faculty members about the art of writing; quality research papers and publish them in renowned international journals.

Research and Entrepreneurship committee of KCL Institute of Management and Technology (KCLIMT), organised a ‘Faculty Development Programme (FDP)’ on research, writing and publication, to acquaint its faculty members about the art of writing; quality research papers and publish them in renowned international journals.

Prof Gurwinder Singh Shergill from Massey University, New Zealand, graced the occasion as the resource person.

A total of 60 faculty members from KCLIMT, Lyallpur Khalsa College of Engineering and Lyallpur Khalsa College for Women, participated in the event.

Dr Shergill guided faculty members that in the current scenario, universities were ranked according to the quality of research publications of its faculty members.

“In the US, UK, New Zealand and other foreign countries faculty is appointed only if he/she has good research publications. The parameter of evaluating faculty member is also the number of research publication in reputed journals,” he added.

He highlighted that both quantitative and qualitative methods should be used for conducting research.

He explained to faculty members the format of writing good research paper, the type of references to be used and the most important things which the editor or reviewer points out while selecting a research paper.

Prof Rajan Dhir, Dr Navjit Singh, Dr Sonu Dua, Parveen Kalsi, Arminderjit Singh Rai and Bharat Bhushan, were present on the occasion.
