Extortion, blackmail case registered in Phagwara

Satnampura police have registered a case under Sections 383, 500, 182 and 120-B of the Indian Penal Code following allegations of extortion, criminal conspiracy and mental harassment.

DSP Phagwara Bharat Bhushan, the complaint was filed by Amit Ohri, a resident of New Mansa Devi Nagar, Phagwara. In his complaint, Ohri alleged that Harshdeep Kaur, wife of Anudeep Singh and daughter of Inderjit Singh and Inderjit Singh, both presently residing in Vikas Nagar, Phagwara—acted in collusion to deliberately harass and defame him.

The complainant alleged that the accused repeatedly filed false complaints against him as part of a well-planned conspiracy with the intention of blackmailing him and extorting money. He further stated that their actions caused serious damage to his reputation and subjected him to continuous mental stress and harassment.

Taking cognisance of the complaint, the police registered a case against both accused and initiated an investigation to verify the allegations and examine the role of the accused in the alleged conspiracy. Further proceedings are underway.
