The bank staff recovered 22 fake currency notes of Rs200 denominations from a person who had come to deposit money in the bank. After getting the information, the Model Town police arrested the accused and registered a case against him.

According to information, Balwinder Singh, SHO in-charge of PS Model Town, said Joshiel Kumar of Dashmesh Nagar had gone to deposit Rs3lakh cash at Canara Bank located near Kamalpur Chowk. When the bank cashier counted and checked the cash, 22 fake currency notes of Rs200 denominations were found in the cash given by him. The cashier informed the bank manager. The SHO said on receiving the information from the bank manager, cops reached and arrested suspect. An FIR was lodged against him. The SHO said he would be produced in court tomorrow and remand will be sought for further investigation.
