Footwear makers seek GST refund

Jalandhar, November 2

Demanding quick refund of the GST collected from them, members of the Rubber Footwear Manufacturers’ Association staged a protest in front of the GST Bhawan here on Friday.

Led by association president Neeraj Arora, the members said an amount of Rs70 crore that was to be refunded had been lying blocked with the government.

They said, “While the files for reimbursing Rs30 crore had been cleared, the Centre had returned the funds to the state government. Instead of refunding the amount to us, the state government is now going to buy luxury cars for its ministers.”— TNS
