Phagwara, June 29

The Nakodar city police on Wednesday claimed to have busted a gang of snatchers with the arrest of its two members. The arrested accused were identified as Mangat Ram, alias Manga, a resident of Aallowal village, and Samual, alias Saim, a resident of Sharak Pur.

Station House Officer (SHO) Harjindar Kaur said the police have received a piece of information that the accused were roaming in Nakodar with the intention to snatch and were intercepted at a naka village.

The SHO said the accused were habitual snatchers and a case under Sections 379-B (snatching) and 34 (committing crime with common intention) of the Indian Penal Code had been registered against them and their accomplices Pawitar Singh and Rohit, who were still at large. The police are investigating the matter further.
