Phagwara, August 17
A 17-year-old girl, identified as Manisha, reportedly committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling of her house in the local Mansa Devi Nagar on Thursday night.
It was confirmed by Superintendent of the Police (SP) Mandeep Singh on Friday. The body has been kept in a mortuary after conducting the post-mortem examination. Her parents were staying abroad, said the SP. Deep stress was said to be the cause behind her suicide. A case has been registered. — OC
