Govt, private health facilities extend a helping hand

JALANDHAR: The Civil Hospital, along with private hospitals extended help to the Amritsar administration to help victims of the Amritsar tragedy on Friday evening.

The Civil Hospital, along with private hospitals extended help to the Amritsar administration to help victims of the Amritsar tragedy on Friday evening.

The Jalandhar Civil Hospital has sent five specialists, including two orthopedicians, two surgeons, and one medical specialist, to the site.

Apart from this, pharmacists, blood technicians, were also sent along with the other medications which were required in the hospitals.

50 units of blood were also sent to the site. A total of four ambulances were also pressed into service to help the victims.

Jasmit Kaur Bawa, the Medical Superintendent said the help was sent the moment the news came.

Apart from this, the private hospitals also extended help to the victims. Harprit Singh, Chief orthopedist Surgeon from Orthonova Hospital said they had sent two ambulances to Amritsar.

“Our pharmacist was presesnt at the site. We sent medicines too. We even ensured that they get every facility, including timely aid from doctors,” he said adding that the team from Orthonova was camping there the whole time.

The doctor said when he got to know about the incident, he immediately contacted the Civil Surgeon Amritsar and got to know that ambulance were needed, so the ambulances were immediately rushed to the site.

Civil Hospital sends specialists

Apart from this, pharmacists, blood technicians, have also been sent along with the other medications required in the hospitals. Fifty units of blood were collected and sent for victims. Four ambulances were pressed into service too.
