Govt school Mithapur, Shaheed Bishan Singh school register victories

Govt Senior Secondary School, Mithapur, Jalandhar, and Shaheed Bishan Singh School, Delhi won their league matches in the 15th All India Balwant Singh Kapur Hockey Tournament for Mata Parkash Kaur Cup in (U-19) category at Olympian Surjit Hockey Stadium Jalandhar here today.

Govt Senior Secondary School, Mithapur, beat Indira Priyadarshani School, Bhopal, 2-1 and Shaheed Bishan Singh School, Delhi, get the better of Govt School Cheharta (Amritsar) 3-0.

In the first match Mithapur boys displayed good hockey after trailing by one goal. In the third minute Bhopal’s Abdul scored the field goal (1-0). In the last minute of the first half, Harkaran Singh equalised for Mithapur with penalty corner conversion (1-1). After changing ends in 38th minute Harkaran Singh struck once again with penalty corner conversion for Mithapur (2-1).

In the second match Delhi boys dominated the proceeding. For Delhi Rakesh scored two goals in the eighth and 30th minute and one goal was scored by Deepak in the 26th minute.

On January 9, three matches will be held between Shaheed Bishan Singh School, New Delhi and Govt Model School, Mohali, Indira Priyadarshani School Bhopal and Govt Model school, Jalandhar and BRC Danapur and Malwa Khalsa School Ludhiana.
