NAWANSHAHR: A government school teacher has been arrested by the Nawanshahr police today for allegedly molesting two minor girl students. The girls are studying in Government High School, Mehrampur, at Aur here.

A government school teacher has been arrested by the Nawanshahr police today for allegedly molesting two minor girl students. The girls are studying in Government High School, Mehrampur, at Aur here.

The accused teacher is a regular employee of the school. The teacher, identified as Sulakhan Singh of Rahon, teaches art and craft to students.

One of the parents of the victims in a complaint stated that on October 17, their 14-year-old daughter, along with her classmate, went to the staff room of the school to take a duster when Sulakhan followed them and locked the door from inside.

The parents said the teacher then molested them after which the girls ran away from the room.

They said after the girls narrated the incident to them, they reached the school and told the school Principal about the same.

The police said they had arrested the accused.

The police have registered a case under Section 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Section 10 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

The complaint
