The SC & BC teachers employees Union former president Gurmel Chander joined Bahujan Samaj party (BSP) today.

The party’s state president Avtar Singh Karimpuri applauded his decision to join the party. “Intellectual people always support the fight against any cause and with teachers joining the party will too prove beneficial for BSP,” said Karimpuri while welcoming Chander and his supporters to the party folds.

While raising concern over the deteriorating law and order situation in the state, Karimpuri said while the state government did not announce any job or cash awards for those who would provide information on people behind sacrilege incidents but it does so to track the RSS leader Jagdish Gagneja’s killers.

“This clearly shows the helplessness of Shiromani Akali Dal in front of its alliance partner and I strongly condemn it,” said Karimpuri.

Refuting any possibility to form an alliance with Congress party, Karimpuri said, “It is not possible after Mayawati in a rally held at Nawanshehr in March had announced to fight the elections alone in Punjab.”
