As part of its ongoing drive against vector-borne diseases under the Tandarust Punjab mission in the district, the anti-larvae cell of the Health Department and the Municipal Corporation, Jalandhar, on Wednesday detected 10 cases of dengue larvae in various localities of the city.
During the drive, the team checked 236 houses, 75 waste containers and 70 coolers. The team detected dengue larvae at 10 places, including four at Satkartar Nagar, two each at Urban Estate, Lamma Pind and Chotti Baradari.
The team sprinkled medicine at 55 places in Lamma Pind to prevent further breeding of mosquitoes.
It also had a detailed interaction with residents during which they informed them that these places could act as a breeding ground for mosquitoes.
