The district has maintained its leading position for the past three years, with the number of girls recorded higher than that of boys — an achievement viewed as a significant indicator of social progress.
The award was presented by Health Minister Dr Balbir Singh along with Health and Family Welfare Director Dr Hatinder Kaur and National Health Mission MD Ghanshyam Thori to the Civil Surgeon, Kapurthala, Dr Sanjeev Bhagat, District Family Welfare Officer Dr Ravjit Singh and PNDT Coordinator-cum-Deputy Mass Media Officer Sharandeep Singh.
Civil Surgeon Dr Sanjeev Bhagat said daughters are a matter of pride for families and society, and called upon the community to ensure equal opportunities for their growth and empowerment.
