The three-day Heritage Fair 2026, organised by the Tourism Department of the Punjab Government in collaboration with the district administration, concluded on Sunday at Guru Nanak Stadium in Kapurthala, celebrating the rich cultural legacy of Punjab with a special focus on the heritage of Kapurthala.
The closing day witnessed the presence of Aam Aadmi Party constituency in-charge advocate Karmbir Singh Chandi from Kapurthala, Sultanpur Lodhi constituency in-charge and chairman of the Improvement Trust Sajjan Singh Cheema, Senior Superintendent of Police Gaurav Toora, along with other district officials.
A large number of people visited the venue to enjoy a vibrant showcase of traditional Punjabi art forms, including bhangra, giddha, sammi, dhadi performances, folk boliyan, poetry recitations and stand-up comedy. Renowned singers Kanwar Grewal, Gurnam Bhullar and Sikander Saleem enthralled the audience with their performances, adding to the festive atmosphere.
Deputy Commissioner Amit Kumar Panchal said the primary objective of the event was to reconnect people with Punjab’s rich heritage and cultural roots. He noted that the heritage fair not only showcased Kapurthala’s legacy but also contributed to promoting tourism in the region. He added that such initiatives play a crucial role in engaging the younger generation with the state’s cultural traditions.
Students from Government Senior Secondary School Dalla, along with performers including Avtar Singh Isharwal, Balwinder Singh, Bunty and team, Sapras Dalla, Gurjeet Singh Gori Jangla and students of Lovely Professional University, presented various cultural performances during the concluding day.
