Student of St Joseph's Convent School, Cantt Road, she is now stepping into the medical stream, Shreya credits her success not only to hard work but also to her strong belief in manifestation and self-confidence.
From the very beginning, Shreya, daughter of a retired government college principal, was certain about her performance.
Recalling a conversation with her now school principal, she shared, “He asked me how much I was expecting, and I said above 97 per cent. He mentioned that most students usually say above 90, but I was confident about my goal.” Her clarity of thought and unwavering belief played a key role in achieving her target.
Shreya reveals that this success was no coincidence. “I have been thinking about it for a long time,” she said, emphasising the power of consistent focus and positive thinking.
Encouraged by her parents, Shreya chose the medical stream, inspired by their values of service and compassion. “I have always seen them helping others and spreading positivity. Becoming a doctor feels like the best way to carry that forward,” she explained. Her love for biology further strengthened her decision.
Interestingly, Shreya also challenges the common notion that academic success requires complete isolation from distractions.
She maintained an active presence on social media throughout her studies. “I believe one can achieve anything with the right balance. I wanted to show that it’s possible to succeed academically while still enjoying life,” she said.
Beyond academics, Shreya is a creative individual who enjoys painting, listening to music and playing the harmonica. She believes that happiness and personal fulfillment are just as important as studies.
Sharing a message for fellow students, Shreya said, “Don’t stress too much. Academics are not just about studying but also about enjoying the process. The happier you are, the better you will perform.”
