Illicit liquor seized in Phillaur; one arrested

Phillaur Police seized a large quantity of illicit liquor on Friday.

They have registered a case under Sections 61-1-14 of the Excise Act.

DSP Bharat Masih said the case was registered on the complaint of ASI Mandeep Singh, in charge of Ganna Pind police post, Phillaur.

The incident took place in Daulowal area when the police were on patrol duty.

The police arrested Dev, a resident of Jagatpura village, under Phillaur police station and seized 24 bottles of illicit liquor, ‘9 One Whisky’.

The other accused, Ritik, a resident of the same village, fled the spot.
