IMA Phagwara hosts CPR training to boost life-saving skills

The event aimed to equip medical professionals, industry representatives, paramedical staff, and students with vital life-saving skills.
The session began with a welcome address by IMA Phagwara President Dr Tushar Aggarwal, who highlighted the importance of public CPR awareness, stressing its role in enabling individuals to take quick action in emergencies. Rakesh Chawla, President of Rotary Phagwara Gems, and Inderpal Khurana, President of Laghu Udyog Bharti, both underscored the significance of such initiatives in saving lives by facilitating timely intervention before medical help arrives.
Dr Anil Tandon (MD Medicine) conducted an informative session on CPR’s principles, followed by a live demonstration and hands-on training led by a certified CPR instructor, allowing participants to practice under expert supervision.
The programme saw enthusiastic participation from 95 attendees, including doctors Dr Ramesh Arora, Dr Chiman Arora, Dr Meenu Tandon, Dr Inder, Dr Harjeet, and Dr Sulbha, as well as industrial and social figures like Gaurav Handa, Ashok Gupta, Mukhinder Singh, and others. Paramedical staff from local hospitals, factory workers, and students from GB Nursing Institute also participated.
The event was a significant step in promoting health awareness, reinforcing the message that immediate, informed action can save lives. It concluded with a vote of thanks from IMA Phagwara Secretary Dr Poonam, who called for CPR training to become a universal skill, ensuring preparedness in medical emergencies.
