Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann today inaugurated the state’s first Startup Punjab Conclave, organised by the Department of Industries and Commerce, at Lovely Professional University (LPU).
Industry leaders, investors, incubators, academic experts and policymakers converged under one roof and for a three-session panel discussion through the day. Besides, over 100 registered startups set up an exhibits, while eight entrepreneurs received seed funding.
Inaugurating the exhibition, Mann appreciated Chandigarh Group of Colleges Landran students’ project on drones and that of robots showcased by the host university. Jalandhar-based company Samarthya Defence Research and Technology put up a stall of grenade defusers, while Diltak AI focused on achieved wellness remotely by a 24x7 assistant. Other projects explored eco-tourism, reuse of plastic wastes and production of handmade soaps and aromatic items.
The CM assured them of full institutional backing. “Update and Create”, he said.
