A delegation from the Pathways Global Alliance was invited to the European Parliament, where several meetings were held to discuss parliamentary, economic, academic and cultural cooperation between India and Europe. Prominent BJP leaders of the country and state represented the Indian delegation at the event.
Discussions took place during a conference hosted by the European Parliament and attended by members of the European Parliament, members of the Polish Parliament, policy experts, economists and entrepreneurs. The conference was organised by Grzegorz Braun, Member of the European Parliament and Member of the Committee on Foreign Affairs (AFET) and chaired by Ryszard Czarnecki, former vice-president of the European Parliament.
The Indian delegation included senior political and institutional representatives, including-Dushyant Kumar Gautam, National General Secretary, BJP and former Member of Parliament; Rinchen Lhamo, former Member of the National Commission for Minorities, Government of India and former BJP Women's President, Ladakh, India; Uday Sood, Vice President, Education Wing, Punjab and General Secretary, Pathways Global Alliance; Rajesh Bagha, former Chairman, Punjab State Commission for Scheduled Castes, Vice President, BJP Punjab & Chief Patron, Pathways Global Alliance as well as National President, British Ravidassia Heritage Foundation (United Kingdom) and Peshiram Dadsena, BJP RTI State President, Chhattisgarh.
The European side was represented by Roman Fritz, Member of the Polish Parliament (Sejm); Wlodzimierz Skalick, Member of the Polish Parliament (Sejm); Slawomir Zawislak, Polish Member of Parliament (Sejm); Dr. Slawomir Ojdik, Policy Expert; Ireneusz Jablonski, Economist and Jack Stielow, Entrepreneur.
During the meeting, a plan was made to enhance co-operation between India and Europe. BJP leaders said the Kolhapur family, heirs to the royal family of Kolhapur and descendants of India's 17th-century hero Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, sheltered over 5,000 Polish women and children at the Valivade camp in Kolhapur State from 1943 to 1948, forging a deep bond between the people of Poland and India. The mutual affection between the Kolhapur family and the Poles of India is an important part of the foundation of trust between the peoples of India and Poland. The meetings concluded with the understanding that continued engagement will be maintained through parliamentary dialogue, institutional mechanisms, and structured follow-up, aimed at strengthening long-term cooperation between India and Europe.
