Jalandhar: Photographer killed in hit-and-run near Kot Fatuhi

A 50-year-old photographer was killed after his motorcycle was allegedly hit by an unidentified vehicle on the Beas Doab Canal road near Kot Fatuhi late Friday evening.

The deceased has been identified as Arun Kumar Prabhakar, a resident of Pachnangla village. According to information, Arun had attended a photographers' seminar in Ludhiana and returned to Kot Fatuhi in the evening. He took his motorcycle, parked outside his elder brother's shop and left for his village.

When he reached a point shortly after crossing the Beas Doab Canal bridge and moving beyond the market, an unidentified vehicle allegedly rammed his motorcycle. Arun fell on the road and sustained serious injuries.

Passers-by informed a shopkeeper at Adda Kot Fatuhi, who alerted the victim's family. The family members reached the spot and rushed Arun to a private hospital, where he was declared dead. The driver involved in the accident fled the spot. The police have initiated an investigation and are trying to identify and trace the vehicle and its driver.
