In a moment of immense pride for Jalandhar, 20-year-old Rachel Gupta, a resident of Urban Estate, Phase-1, here, has clinched the coveted Miss Grand India 2024 title, organised by Glamanand. The grand finale, held at Zee Studios in Jaipur, Rajasthan, on August 11, saw Rachel outshine her competitors with grace, poise and an undeniable stage presence.

With this victory, Rachel has now earned the opportunity to represent India at the Miss Grand International competition, scheduled to be held in Cambodia and Thailand this October. This global event, renowned as the world’s leading beauty pageant with a massive following of over 5 million, will feature contestants from more than 80 countries, each vying for the illustrious Golden Crown. Rachel now stands as a strong contender to bring home a title that India has yet to claim.

Talking to Jalandhar Tribune, Rachel said her journey at the Miss Grand India competition was marked by exceptional performances that kept her consistently on the top. In addition to winning the crown, she dominated the sub-title categories, taking home awards for Beauty with a Purpose, Best Ramp Walk, Top Model and the highly prestigious Best National Costume.

Meanwhile, this is not Rachel’s first foray into the international spotlight. In 2022, she was crowned Miss Supertalent of the World. Beyond her pageant accomplishments, Rachel is also recognised for her philanthropic efforts. She has successfully raised over Rs 2 lakh to support the education of underprivileged children with the support of her family and friends.

Rachel’s return to Jalandhar this evening was nothing short of celebratory.
